HISTORY
Valhalla is the Viking legendary hall of heroes in Asgard, the Land of the gods.
Here, Odin, Thor and the other gods sported and drank with the chosen heroes,
slain mortals of Midgard. They spend their days fighting and testing their
skills in combat in preparation for the end of the world battle known as
Ragnorak.
Valhalla's walls are made of golden spears and its roof of gold shields. It has
540 doors, each big enough to let 800 armed men through side by side.
Valkyries are female warriors who did Odin's will. They flew above battles on
horse back directing the fighting and picking those warriors brave and strong
enough to fill Valhalla. A man chosen to die was said to see a valkyrie just
before the fatal blow.
The Norse myths and legends are full of heroic tales and wonderful deeds that
have inspired much of our western writers of epic fantasy such as JRR Tolkien
and his world of "Middle Earth". Research and exploration of this magnificent
mythos is highly recommended. VALHALLA'S
